Bio

፻ አለቃ Berhane Seraw was born in Gojam Debremarkos on June 12, 1922. Berhane worked as a kibur zebegna (Imperial Guard). During the Korean War, he served wth the 2nd Kagnew Shaleka (2nd Kagnew Battalion). After fulfilling his mission back to his land, he served as a Kongo Peacekeeper for the second time. He is remembered as one of the brave soldiers who fought honestly for his country and fought for peace between the two Koreas. His family recalls him being a strong man who worked for 14 years with honesty. Because of this service, he was awarded the following medals (Nishan): 1st standard Emperor Minilik II Gold Medals, Emperor Minilik II Bronze Medals, Korean War Medals from the Government of Korea, U.N.O (United Nations Organization), Korean War Memorial, Madelia. He passed away on June 10, 1979, after a life journey of 57 years.
