Private Luis Carlos García Arcila served in the 1st Colombian Infantry Battalion attached to the U.S. 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was deployed to Korea from June 15, 1952, to May 22, 1953, as part of Colombia’s commitment to the United Nations forces. In November 2023, his remains were laid to rest at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, making him among the first Colombian Korean War veterans to receive this honor.
