George Willie Sailers

Bio

George Willie Sailers began his service in the US Army during World War II.  He participated in the Battle of Luzon and earned many commendations including Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with a Bronze Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon .  Due to his outstanding service, he also earned the Expert Infantry Badge and WWII Victory Medal.  George Willie Sailers served in the Korean War from August 1950 through February 1952 as a truck driver.  He retired from the US Army in March, 1964 at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

George Willie Sailers fought in WWII and the Korean War. During WWII, he fought in the Pacific Theater and earned many medals. As a truck driver during the Korean War, George Willie Sailers provided supplies for follow troops throughout the surrounding region.
