Bio

Frank Dollins began serving his country in 1950 at the age of eighteen. Early in his service, he was stationed in Japan, and in 1951, he was deployed to Korea with the 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division. The memories from that period remain difficult for him to share. He recalls his friends and fellow soldiers with great fondness and respect, yet he never lost sight of the gravity of their mission. As he puts it, “It’s not like TV… maybe more like a football game where everyone is fighting for ground until someone wins or dies or you run out of food or people.” Frank was wounded by shrapnel, leaving his own blood in Korea. He served honorably and continued to live his life with integrity after returning home. Today, Frank is beloved and respected by all who know him, and his service is deeply appreciated.
