Dorothy Stanosek

Bio

Dorothy Stanosek was born in the small town of Walnut, Iowa. She graduated from nursing school in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1949. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952 and served at an Air Force base outside Bordeaux, France, where she took care of American soldiers. Upon her return to the United States, she married and was honorably discharged in 1954. Her brother, Donald Sharp, served in the United States Air Force as a bombardier during the Korean War. She was very proud to receive a letter from the President of South Korea in 2011 and is proud to be a Korean War Era veteran.
