Boonyuen Junturatana
Bio
Boonyuen Junturatana joined the Thai Navy following high school graduation in 1950. He attended NCO school and was ultimately destined for the war in Korea. He served aboard the Tachin, a frigate that had been given to the Thai Navy by the United States, from June 1952 to May 1953. The Tachin was under UN command throughout his time of service. The ship’s primary duties included escorting and resupplying other ships and patroling the seas in search of enemy vessels. A proud Korean War veteran, he has returned to Korea three times since 1953.

Taking Out a Logistic Point

Duties of a Firing Man
Boonyuen Junturatana details his duties as a "firing man" on board the Tachin. He notes the ship had two cannon.
