Mookda Kerdsap

Bio

Mookda Kerdsap was born on February 15, 1926, in Bangkok. In 1952, he enlisted in the Thai military and underwent training at Yeunsong. He arrived in South Korea in March of that same year, where he witnessed the devastation of war, including the heartbreaking sight of children in need amidst the ruins. Mookda participated in the Battle of Pork Chop Hill as one of 51 service members. Although he did not engage in combat, he spent his time training and waiting for opportunities to provide support. He left Korea in October 1953 and later returned at age 88 in 2014. Mookda was amazed by South Korea’s remarkable transformation since his service during the war.
