Cengiz A. Turkogul
Bio
Cengiz A. Turkogul enlisted in the military and by 1948 was an officer. He volunteered to be with the first Turkish group to go to Korea when he heard they needed officers. His first job was to take care of the ships but then he became a supply officer. Cengiz Turkogul arrived in Korea on July 6, 1953, and was told to be ready to fight by the next day. Cengiz Toukogul returned to South Korea in 2010 as he led a group of fifty men in the journey. His experiences in Korea enabled him to become a civil servant, a university economist, and work in the ministry of energy.

Cengiz Turkogul first arrived in Busan, South Korea on July 6, 1953. He was given a uniform, canteen, blanket, and food. He was then told to be ready to fight. A train to him to the front and was there for the remainder of the war.

Leading Veterans back to Korea
Cengiz Turkogul led a group of veterans to return to Korea in 2010. He was very impressed with the growth of South Korea. When he first was in Korea he was astounded by the number of orphans and would take food to them. Now, those orphans have grown up and he loves to meet Korean people.

Trapped under a Cart
Cengiz Turkogul became trapped under a cart because there was an explosion that tossed the cart on top of him. The sudden blow by the cart resulted in causing Cengiz Turkogul to go into a coma. He then went to the hospital to recover.
