Bio

Richard “Dick” Wood served his country with distinction as a member of the 74th Engineer Heavy Equipment Company during the Korean War. Before deploying to Korea in 1952, he was stationed in Japan. Driven by a sense of duty, he gave little thought to personal danger—his main concern was for his loved ones back home and their well-being. Arriving in Korea, Dick was deeply moved by the devastation and lack of development he encountered. He took great pride in playing a part in rebuilding South Korea and witnessing its transformation. After the war, Dick became a teacher and raised a family, positively influencing countless lives. To those who know him, it is a privilege to call him a friend and to honor his service.
