Bio

Ray Cottrell was a Platoon Sgt of the 31st Inf at the Chosin Reservoir and served at Incheon Landing, HyesanRay Cottrell served as a Platoon Sergeant in the 31st Infantry during the Chosin Reservoir campaign and participated in significant events such as the Incheon Landing and Hyesan. He returned home in November 1951. After dedicating 21 years of service to the U.S. Army, Ray retired as a Command Sergeant Major at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was laid to rest in Brandenburg, Kentucky., Chosin (Jangjin), and other locations. Returning home in November 1951. After 21 years of service, Ray retired from the US Army as a Command Sergeant Major at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was buried in Brandenburg, Kentucky.
