Harold Dean Schweppe served with the United States Air Force 31st Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron during the Korean War. It is said, he would captivate family and friends with stories from his service, especially his deep passion for the B-36 bomber, for which he served as maintenance crew chief.The 31st Strategic Reonnaissance Squadron was known for carrying out vital pre- and post-mission photography reconnaissance and electronic missions during the early years of the Korean War.
